What it is
Infrared laser tag (no lasers, no pellets, no mess) played in your garden, a park or a hall. A mobile operator brings the blasters and headsets, runs the games and counts the scores. You can also buy home sets for smaller groups.
Plan ahead
- Four weeks before: book a mobile laser tag operator and choose a location. Ask what space they need and whether they bring inflatable cover.
- Two weeks before: if playing in a park, check local rules.
- The day before: confirm numbers and set a rain plan (many sets work indoors too).
Set the scene
Camouflage netting, team flags, and a “HQ” table for food and the scoreboard. Use cardboard boxes or garden furniture as cover.
Game ideas
- Team deathmatch: most hits in 10 minutes wins.
- Capture the base: each team defends a base; tag the other team’s base sensor to capture it.
- Last one standing: each player has 10 lives.
- VIP escort: protect the birthday player as they cross the battlefield.
Food and drink
- Pizza and wings
- Energy bars and fruit
- Sports drinks and water
- A camouflage cake
Tips
- Agree boundaries clearly.
- Give awards for most accurate, best team player and best tactics, not just top score.
