Cookies
Our cookie policy lists the cookies and similar technologies used on this site and how to control them.
Advertising and Google
If we show adverts in future we expect to use Google AdSense. When we do, the following will apply.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (UK and EU).
- Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- In the UK, EEA and Switzerland we use Google's consent management platform, which is certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Google's advertising and analytics storage is off by default until you choose, and you can change your choice at any time using "Privacy and cookie settings" in the footer.
- In US states with privacy laws, showing personalised ads may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out on our Your privacy choices page, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals.
Affiliate links
When you click a shopping link you leave our site. The retailer (for example Amazon) may set cookies to credit us with a sale. Their privacy policies apply on their sites. See our affiliate disclosure.
Who we share information with
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and provides analytics and click counting.
- Retailers you choose to visit through our links.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK or EEA, including in the US. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal bases (UK and EU)
- Legitimate interests: running, securing and improving the site, counting visits and link clicks, and replying to messages.
- Consent: advertising cookies and personalised ads in the UK, EEA and Switzerland. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Your rights
UK, EEA and Switzerland: you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy of it. You can withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
US (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws): you can ask to know, access, correct or delete personal information, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money and do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
To make a request, email privacy@partyideaplaybook.com. We will reply within one month (UK and EU) or 45 days (US) and may need to confirm your identity first.

This site is written for adults planning parties. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the UK and EU). If you think a child has contacted us, email us and we will delete their information.
