What it is

A wedding that feels like a mini music festival. Guests often camp in bell tents, food comes from food trucks, there’s a stage with live music, and the vibe is relaxed and colourful. Brilliant for big groups and families with kids.

Plan ahead

• 12-18 months before: find a field or farm venue with permission for events and camping. Check toilets, power and access.
• 9 months before: book food trucks, a band, a marquee or stretch tent, bell tents and lighting.
• 3 months before: plan wet-weather cover and send wristband-style invitations.

Ideas

• Welcome: festival wristbands as place cards.
• Flower crown station: fresh flowers and wire for guests.
• Stage: a stretch tent stage with a band and a DJ.
• Kids’ zone: a craft tent and lawn games.
• Fire pits: with s’mores kits.

Food and drink

• 2-3 food trucks for variety
• A bar tent with craft beer, cider, prosecco and soft drinks
• Breakfast truck for the morning after

Tips

• Book 1 toilet per 50 guests and a good lighting plan for paths.
• Tell guests what to pack: wellies, layers, a torch.
