What it is
A whole-site booking at a glamping venue (bell tents, yurts, shepherd’s huts or pods) for a group celebration. Comfortable beds, a fire pit, outdoor kitchen and often a hot tub. Popular for big birthdays and as a relaxed hen or stag weekend.
Plan ahead
- Three to six months before: book a site for the group. Check how many each tent sleeps, bathroom facilities, fire rules and whether there’s a hot tub.
- One month before: plan meals and share out tasks. Collect payments.
- One week before: send a packing list: warm layers, wellies, torch, swimwear.
Activities
- Woodland walk, wild swimming or paddleboarding nearby
- Campfire cooking and s’mores
- Outdoor games: cornhole, giant Jenga, frisbee
- Stargazing with a star app
Food and drink
- Friday: chilli or curry cooked in a big pot
- Saturday: barbecue feast and a birthday cake
- Breakfasts: bacon rolls, pancakes and fresh coffee
- A good stock of drinks and plenty of water
Tips
- Book a site with a covered communal area in case of rain.
- Bring extra blankets - nights get cold even in summer.
On the day
- Friday afternoon: arrive, settle into tents and light the fire pit.
- Friday evening: fire pit dinner and stargazing.
- Saturday morning: big camp breakfast, then a walk, paddleboarding or a local activity.
- Saturday afternoon: free time, games and the hot tub.
- Saturday evening: the main celebration dinner and cake.
- Sunday: brunch and pack up.
