What it is

A celebration of friendship around Valentine’s Day (traditionally 13 February). Brunch, pink everything, flowers to take home and lots of kind words.

Plan ahead

  • One week before: invite friends and buy decorations.
  • The day before: buy flowers (a mix of roses, carnations, tulips and greenery) and keep them in buckets of water. Make waffle batter.

Waffle bar

Toppings: strawberries, bananas, Nutella, whipped cream, maple syrup, bacon, fried chicken, avocado and eggs.

Bouquet bar

Buckets of flowers and greenery, kraft paper, ribbon and scissors. Build in a spiral, tie with string, wrap and finish with a ribbon.

Compliments jar

Each guest writes one thing they love about every other guest. Everyone takes their notes home.

Food and drink

  • The waffle bar
  • Fruit platter with heart-shaped strawberries
  • Pink prosecco, rosé or berry mocktails

Tips

  • Cut flower stems at an angle and keep them in water until arranging.

On the day

  1. Arrival (20 min): pink fizz or mocktails.
  2. Waffle bar (40 min) with sweet and savoury toppings.
  3. Bouquet bar (30 min): everyone builds a bouquet from a flower bucket.
  4. Compliments jar (15 min): write something you love about each friend.
  5. Games or a rom-com (40 min).
